TAKE A HIKE—
And be prepared. Over the weekend, two hikers got lost at popular Multnomah Falls. They were able to text a photo of a trail sign to rescuers, so they were out and safe in two and a half hours…in the dark of night. Rescuers say that no matter the location, popularity, or length of your hiking choice, always bring: a map, a compass, a first aid kit, a flashlight or headlamp, emergency blanket, fire starter, food, water purification tablets, and a spare charged cell phone battery.
