OREGON A.G. APPOINTS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROSECUTOR

Oregon Attorney General John Kroger has appointed a domestic violence prosecutor.  Erin Greenawald is an assistant D.A. in Yamhill County.  She has been licensed to practice law in Oregon since 1999.

Kroger says she has spent much of that time specializing in domestic violence cases.  Kroger said there is an overwhelming need in Oregon to combat domestic violence, saying that there have been nine domestic violence homicides in Oregon so far this year.  In a bit of irony, the appointment comes just days after Kroger’s Assistant A.G. Susan Gerber pleaded guilty to punching and strangling her long-time lesbian domestic partner Janice Dulle.  For her domestic violence, Gerber got  no jail time, but must attend anger management classes.
